The tribute might not have met full appreciation from the teenage portion of “Glee”‘s fanbase, but the FOX comedy’s Tuesday episode, built around the songs of Fleetwood Mac’s iconic “Rumours” album, sent the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band to the top of the buzz charts.
By as late as 1:15 AM EST, ‘Fleetwood Mac’ was still the most popular search on Google. The episode, which provided context and identity for viewers who might only be loosely familiar with radio staples like “Dreams,” “Don’t Stop” and “Go Your Own Way,” also featured more dramatic elements as Sam (Chord Overstreet) dealt with the loss of his house and possessions as a consequence of his father’s sudden unemployment. April Rhodes (Kristin Chenoweth), meanwhile, made a return appearance.
An additional “Glee” related search came via Ann Coulter, who landed at number three on Google Trends. Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) donned an Ann Coulter disguise during the episode.
— Over on “The Voice,” the big buzz coming out was for country superstar Miranda Lambert, whose fiancee Blake Shelton (also trending) judges on the show. Two Lambert songs–“Gunpowder and Lead” and “The House That Built Me”–were performed by contestants, and Lambert moved up to number three. Shelton sat at 13, behind “The Voice Judges” (9) but ahead of Cee Lo Green (16).
