“Glee” Ratings Disappoint, “Traffic Light” Premiere is a Bomb

Tuesday’s “Glee” performance made it official–the popular FOX musical comedy was the wrong choice for the post-Super Bowl lead-in.

“Glee” did not bomb in its regular timeslot return Tuesday–it, in fact, won the night within the coveted adults 18-49 demographic. But at a 4.5 rating with 11.47 million viewers, the show was right back to its typical range from prior to the winter hiatus. Neither the Super Bowl promotion nor excitement for the show’s long-awaited return did anything to spike interest.

With “Glee” in usual territory, lead-out “Raising Hope” was also in usual territory. The show scored a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating with 6.77 million viewers, continuing its reliable, albeit unspectacular, performance in the post-“Glee” slot.

Unfortunately for FOX, new series “Traffic Light” will not be saving the 9:30PM slot. With a 1.9 and 4.54 million viewers, “Light” actually opened below the “Running Wilde” premiere in the timeslot.
