“Southland” Ratings Improve, “The Game” Continues Decline

“SouthLAnd” is still well below the threshold of success for a series of its nature, but its ratings improved slightly for Tuesday’s episode.

The episode, which featured a major character’s death in the final minutes, drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 2.20 million viewers. Up 4% in total viewers, the adults 18-49 rating improved by a tenth.

And though the increase over last week’s performance is minor, the show has rebounded from the low 0.6 with 1.64 million viewers it posted on January 11.

BET’s revived “The Game,” meanwhile, continued its decline from the massive January 11 premiere. After dipping notably from a 3.6 with 7.68 million viewers to a 2.8 with 5.94 million viewers last week, the former CW property fell again to a 2.3 with 4.65 million viewers. The performance is still strong (especially in the women 18-34 demographic, within which it earned a 3.8), but the show has moved quite a bit away from the splash it made two weeks ago.
