Susan Boyle’s sophomore album “The Gift” will predictably mean big business for record retailers, although the numbers will pale in comparison to those of predecessor “I Dreamed a Dream.”
The latest Boyle album is tracking for roughly 250,000 first week sales, based on one day sales extensions from Hits Daily Double. The figure would pair her album with Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” at the top of the heap, but it would not even touch the more than 700,000-unit tally for the “Dream” debut week.
Close behind will be Kid Cudi’s “Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager.” The rap star and “How to Make it in America” actor should see opening week sales in the 180-220,000 territory.
A pair of compilations will follow among new releases, with “Now 36” and the new Bon Jovi greatest hits collection tracking for 80-85,000 and 70-75,000, respectively.
Reba McEntire’s “All the Woman I Am” should net 60-65,000 first week sales, ending country artists’ debut sales streak but beating Cee Lo Green’s “The Lady Killer” (30-35,000).
Other debuts include Alter Bridge’s “AB III” (24-27,000) and Twista’s “The Perfect Storm” (19-22,000).
I hope Cudi gets more album sales.
That album is so fresh.
I hope KiD CuDi goes Diamond.
