Deadline’s Michael Ausiello reported Wednesday that Darren Criss, who debuted on Tuesday’s “Glee” as gay character and rival glee club singer Blaine, is in talks to become a series regular.
The story notes that the FOX comedy would look to bring Criss back as a regular for the start of season three. He is currently booked to recur on the series.
Criss’ character was introduced Tuesday as the lead vocalist on an all-male rendition of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.” Blaine, who quickly bonded with Kurt (Chris Colfer) over their shared homosexuality, sings for the Dalton Academy Warblers, the glee club from an all-boys school that will compete against the central New Directions at sectionals.
The “Teenage Dream” performance, co-presented by Headline Planet and FOX, is featured below:
Please no more Blaine, he’s a terrible character and an awful boyfriend to Kurt….Mark my words the rating will drop and the fan community will be divided.
