Thanks to the breakthrough success of fourth studio album “Only By the Night,” Kings of Leon’s follow-up “Come Around Sundown” is pacing for a strong opening sales week.
Even without yet yielding a true hit single of its own, “Sundown” will ride KoL’s expanded popularity to 175-200,000 opening week sales, according to Hits Daily Double’s weekly forecast based on opening day sales extensions.
For as strong as that total is for the band, it might not be enough to claim a spot atop the Billboard 200. Sugarland’s “The Incredible Machine” is on track for 200-225,000, which would give the country act a victory should the KoL record not improve its performance late in the week.
Other debuts will include Rod Stewart’s “Fly Me to the Moon” (60-65,000), “Glee”‘s “The Rocky Horror Glee Show” (50-55,000) and Shakira’s “Sale El Sol” (40-45,000).
