Less than forty eight hours have passed since Bryan Danielson went on the record with his availability for independent bookings, and ‘American Dragon”s calendar is already starting to fill up.
As of press time, the wrestler is being advertised for seven upcoming shows: 6/26-CHIKARA in Detroit, 6/27-Absolute Intense Wrestling in Cleveland, 7/3-WXW in Germany, 7/4-WXW in Germany, 7/23-EVOLVE in Union City, 7/24-Dragon Gate USA in Philadelphia and 7/30-Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in Reseda.
Regarding his WWE standing, his 90-day non-compete applies to appearing on television or pay-per-view, but it does not restrict him from wrestling on live independent shows.
If not proven already via backstage reports, it should be clear from WWE’s Facebook post about potentially re-hiring Danielson that the company intends to welcome him back into the fold once the supposed PG-controversy blows over. The referenced post should not be viewed as a sign Danielson was not really let go, but it should prove that there is no intent for this to be a long-term, heated severance. Some online fans and critics have even made loose comparisons to the Matt Hardy situation from 2005.
