A Sunday article on the Fayetteville Observer website previews TNA wrestler Jeff Hardy’s upcoming court date.
Hardy faces multiple counts related to drug possession and intent to distribute following a September search-and-arrest in his home. Indicted earlier this year, Hardy appears in court on May 10.
Hardy’s arrest came shortly after his departure from WWE and prompted an on-air response of mockery from wrestler CM Punk, with whom he had been feuding prior to his scheduled hiatus. Sources say that WWE’s handling of the arrest played a part in his decision to make his 2010 wrestling return with TNA, rather than with WWE.
Neither Hardy nor his attorneys offered public comment on the matter. In the meantime, Hardy maintains his relationship with Total Nonstop Action, and is currently trailing only Desmond Wolfe in TNA’s official fan poll regarding who deserves a title shot.
I really hope Jeff Hardy gets it through. I know he didn’t do it. I know he wasn’t really drug trafficking and I also know that he’s not a drug trafficker. He’s a great man and he’s also a great WWE/TNA wrestler! And if they convict him, the government is just showing us they have no idea what they’re doing!
