While the ratings for the second half of the third “Greek” season have not been fantastic, they have been promising enough to keep the show alive.
“Greek” will return for a fourth season, reports Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly.
“Greek” was the only high-profile ABC Family series not to receive a renewal earlier this year, and the word going around was that the decision would be heavily-contingent on ratings in its new Monday 10PM timeslot.
According to Media Week, the most recent airing posted an average of 958,000 viewers with a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating, its lowest of the season. With viewership retention of less than 50% and adults 18-49 retention of less than 60% out of lead-in “Make it or Break It,” the ratings performance would not traditionally be viewed as successful.
Yet by delivering acceptable numbers among the older portion of the young adult crowd at 10PM, the show managed to earn a renewal–a decision EW says ultimately came down to cost.
