When news broke that ECW original Tommy Dreamer had decided to end his tenure with WWE, the immediate assumption from wrestling insiders was that Dreamer was bound for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Dreamer did nothing to silence such speculators by reportedly confirming to those close to him that he was seriously considering a move to TNA.
While that could indeed be his plan, there are some questioning the likelihood that he will simply jump over to TNA as an active wrestler. Based on how WWE handled the Charlie Haas situation and the general feeling of competition with the January 4 date coming up, those close to the situation would be shocked if Dreamer negotiated his release in a manner that lets him wrestle for TNA at all, let alone without falling under the auspices of a no compete.
Though no one from within TNA has offered any confirmation, the going belief is that the company would welcome Dreamer in an agent capacity. If and when that jump will happen remains to be seen.
