“Lost” Star Finally Takes Home Emmy, “24”‘s President Is Victorious

He has been the stand-out performer on “Lost” since becoming a regular on the show, and he now has an Emmy to show for it. Michael Emerson, who plays Benjamin Linus on the show, earned the Best Supporting Actor-Drama Emmy Sunday night.

It was Emerson’s third nomination for the role–prior to appearing on “Lost,” he won a Guest Actor Emmy for “The Practice” in 2001.

Emerson beat out Christian Clemenson (“Boston Legal”), William Hurt (“Damages”), Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), William Shatner (“Boston Legal”) and John Slattery (“Mad Men”).

— The Best Supporting Actress-Drama award belonged to “24” actress Cherry Jones, who began her role as the President for the show’s seventh season.

Jones defeated Rose Byrne (“Damages”), Hope Davis (“In Treatment”), Sandra Oh (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Dianne Wiest (“In Treatment”) and Chandra Wilson (“Grey’s Anatomy”).
