— Nick Zano (“The Final Destination”) has joined “Cougar Town” as a recurring. Zano will play the first boyfriend (not the younger hookup from the pilot, played by David Clayton Rogers) for Courtney Cox’s newly-single character.
— Gal Gadot has been booked as a recurring supermodel character on The CW’s “The Beautiful Life.”
— Michael Mosley and Kerry Bishe have booked starring roles on “Scrubs,” which returns this season with a modified setting and premise (it is now set in a medical school). Dave Franco had previously been cast as a new regular.
Mosley plays Drew, a thirty-something medical student getting another shot at the profession. Ten years ago, he suffered a meltdown while studying at Harvard Medical school. Now a de factor “mentor” to the younger students, Drew is reluctant to develop relationships with his peers.
Bishe plays Lucy, a young and attractive all-American female who is the first in her family of fishermen to pursue higher education.
— Entertainment Weekly reports that Jenna Dewan (“Step Up”) has booked a guest arc on “Melrose Place” as a young studio executive who develops feelings for moviemaking Jonah (Michael Rady).
— John Hawkes has been booked as new “Lost” character Lennon. All that was confirmed in the casting call was that Lennon is a scruffy, charismatic spokesperson for the president of a foreign corporation; he is more powerful than his position implies.
