Hits Daily Double projections reveal that artists from the country genre will retain their streak atop the album sales chart next week.
Based on Tuesday’s sales, Reba McEntire’s “Keep On Loving You” is tracking for a debut in the 90-100,00 range. That will give it the sales victory among current albums and comprehensive albums, as no Michael Jackson release will top the figure.
Tracking as the next highest debut is Third Eye Blind’s “Ursa Major.” The album’s surprisingly strong performance on iTunes–it presently sits atop the Album Sales chart–will propel it to a solid sales week in the realm of 40-50,000. The band’s first studio release since 2003’s “Out of the Vein” (which opened to 63,000), the album has to be considered successful, especially after last month’s Sugar Ray release “Music for Cougars” (which has not shown any sales prowess) proved that hit pop/rock acts from the 1990s and early 2000s are not guaranteed success in 2009.
Sean Paul’s “Imperial Blaze,” tracking at 20-23,000, will likely fall just behind Ledisi’s “Turn Me Loose,” which could go as high as 27,000. Mute Math’s strong iTunes performer “Armistice” will open with 15-20,000 solid units, while 15,000 sales is a safe bet for Emmure’s “Felony.”
Yayyyy for Reba!!!
fuck reba and her 31 albums. go go 3eb
Great job, Reba!!!!!!! Fantastic album!!!!!!!!
really “bk” grow up
Gotta show some repsect for Reba. She is the real deal. That said, critics and various h@ters need to get a clue to the pull that 3EB has with the public. These guys are not some second rate band. They have the goods and always have. Good music never goes out of style. Lastly, Ursa Major is a cohesive triumph. I just don’t want to wait another 6 years for more msuic.
