— Adding to Jim Ross’ claim that Jeff Hardy is unquestionably WWE’s most popular Superstar, a new Wrestling Observer report says that Hardy came across as a gigantic name at the company’s recent Budokan Hall shows. While the shows did not draw particularly well, WWE remains committed to its international audience, and the support for Hardy (and Punk and Morrison, to a lesser degree) definitely underscores his value and explains why the company is working hard to keep him past Summerslam.
— CM Punk, who has been praised internally in recent months, had an interesting schedule this past week in that he wrestled different opponents (and with different stipulations) in his series of house show and television matches. That is not the norm for a WWE performer, especially one who has been locked in a long-term feud with a single Superstar.
— There are rumors going around that the Rogers Center in Toronto might be in the running to host the 2012 edition of WrestleMania.
