WWE officials have reportedly been very happy with the guest host gimmick on RAW, and as of press time, the plan was to continue the angle for the foreseeable future.
Regarding celebrities, the goal is to bring in names who are either long-time wrestling fans or demographic stars familiar with the product. Names being thrown around for future gigs include Sheryl Crow and Snoop Dogg.
The company will also continue using pro wrestling talent–as was reported in this past week’s Wrestling Observer, there has been talk of having former WWE star The Godfather (Charles Wright) host when RAW goes to Las Vegas in late August.
As for tonight’s show, wrestling fans and musicians Dusty Hill and Billy Gibbons (from ZZ Top) are slated as the guest hosts. There has also been talk of Dusty Rhodes appearing alongside the band on tonight’s show.
