TV News: MTV Goes For Youth Version of “Hung”

HBO’s “Hung” will soon not be the only television comedy focused on a well-endowed male; according to THR, MTV has given a series order to similarly-themed comedy “Hard Times.”

The comedy, from creators and executive producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, centers on RJ Berger, an unpopular fifteen year old who moves into the social limelight when his large penis is revealed in front of his entire high school. As he deals with the newfound, anatomy-driven popularity, he faces cruel jokes from the student body, a best friend trying to ride his coattails and an unsettling home life.

“Hung,” which stars Thomas Jane as a directionless, middle-aged teacher who uses his endowment to enter the world of male prostitution, debuted to solid numbers last month. It skews much older than the MTV comedy.
