American Idol 8: All Male Final Three

“American Idol” had an all-female final three in season three, but it has yet to reproduce the feat on the guy’s end. Until now.

Allison Iraheta was eliminated Wednesday, leaving only Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen in the competition. Lambert and Gokey have been frontrunners since the beginning of the season, while Allen has channeled his popularity with younger fans into becoming a formidable darkhorse.

Iraheta, called the “last hope for the girls” by Simon Cowell several weeks ago, had struggled to reach the pinnacle of popularity despite consistently receiving solid reviews for her performances. A frequent bottom three visitor, her luck finally ran out–she was eliminated after Tuesday’s rendition of “Cry Baby,” along with a duet contribution (with Adam Lambert) to “Slow Ride.”

The final three each perform two songs–a judges’ selection and a personal selection–next week.

  1. I really enjoyed the top 5 Idol group song last night. It was sad to see Aaron Kelly removed but I do believe the other singers were better singers hence he had to go!

  2. I consider Donald Trump would be a better American Idol judge compared with Harry Connick Jr. – Trump is not at all afraid to express what he thinks and can be as outspoken as Simon Cowell.
