Republic Relaunching James Bay’s “Hold Back The River” At Hot AC Radio

The follow-up to James Bay’s “Let It Go” was also its predecessor.

Republic confirms that it will relaunch the singer-songwriter’s “Hold Back The River” this July. The song’s re-impact date is presently listed as July 11.

“Hold Back The River” had a fairly successful initial run at Hot AC radio — it peaked inside the Top 15 in the summer of 2015 — but the label evidently feels it can go higher. It has also been certified gold under the RIAA’s digital singles program.

The aforementioned “Let It Go” peaked at #4 on the Mediabase hot adult contemporary chart.

— While “Hold Back The River” will get a second chance at Hot AC, Republic will move onto a new track at alternative. Bay’s “Best Fake Smile” impacts the alt/modern rock format on 6/28.
