Taylor Swift’s “New Romantics” Earns Gold Certification In The US

Serayah Swift Gomez [CBS]

The seventh radio single from Taylor Swift’s “1989” has officially earned a certification from the RIAA.

Swift’s “New Romantics” earned a gold honor on May 18, 2016. The gold certification confirms a US unit total of 500,000, with one unit being equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

The certification came a week after previous radio single “Out Of The Woods” went platinum in the US. All “1989” radio singles are now certified gold or better.

Instant gratification track “Welcome To New York” also holds a gold certification, while the album itself is 5x platinum (and definitely eligible for a higher certification at this point).
