Ratings: “American Horror Story” Sinks To Season Low

Buzz over “American Horror Story: Freak Show” has faded, and it shows in the ratings.

Wednesday’s episode, which was the season’s penultimate, posted season lows (actually the lowest of the past two seasons) in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

“Show Stoppers,” the episode, drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating with 2.94 million viewers. The figures were down from the 1.5 and 3.11 million posted by the previous episode.

After opening to the biggest premiere audience yet, “AHS: Freak Show” has consistently turned away viewers. Its audience level quickly fell below that of the prior “Coven” season, and its numbers in the adults 18-49 demographic have become fairly consistent with (if not weaker than) those garnered by the inaugural “Murder House” season.

Only the 2012-13 “Asylum” season was a clearly weaker draw from start-to-finish.
