Oft-Criticized Lazaro Arbos is Last “American Idol” Man Standing; Results

If “American Idol” had not faded so notably from the forefront of pop culture, Lazaro Arbos’ run on “American Idol” would be as controversial as that of Sanjaya Malakar.

Though likable, Arbos has repeatedly struggled to stay on pitch and remember his lyrics. But despite that reputation–evidenced by a string of critically-panned performances and no beloved ones–Arbos has consistently avoided elimination.

And after tonight, he is the last man standing on “American Idol.”

Voters booted Burnell Taylor this week, leaving Arbos and all five female finalists–Janelle Arthur, Angie Miller, Kree Harrison, Candice Glover and Amber Holcomb–still in the mix.

Arbos, in fact, joined Harrison and Miller in the top three.
