Rumors Wrong; The CW Renews “Nikita,” Gives “Gossip Girl” Final Episodes
A bogus inside “rumor” going around had suggested The CW was pulling the plug on its sophomore drama “Nikita.”
Nope.
The CW officially ordered a full third season of the female-fronted drama series, Friday, putting it in the same boat as its nightly companion “Supernatural,” which had already been renewed (along with “90210″ and “The Vampire Diaries”).
Freshman “Hart of Dixie” managed to make the cut as well, and veteran “Gossip Girl” was booked for an abridged final season of eleven episodes.
Not so successful were newcomers “The Secret Circle” and “Ringer,” both of which were cancelled. “Ringer” had been delivering some downright atrocious ratings late in its run, while “The Secret Circle” simply was not holding enough of its “The Vampire Diaries” lead-in.
