WWE Claims Shaquille O’Neal Is “Not Scheduled” for WrestleMania

Refuting claims made by the man himself, WWE.com claims Shaquille O’Neal is “not scheduled to appear” on the WrestleMania 28 card in April.

The article, entitled “Shaq will not compete at WrestleMania,” references comments O’Neal made to Hollywood Life over the weekend. Despite O’Neal’s confirmation that he will be involved, which aligned with rumors from several months ago, WWE.com says “WWE officials” are denying any involvement.

At present, one should take this with a grain of salt. If a Shaq appearance were truly not even in the radar, it is unclear why WWE would make the rumor visible on its official website.

At the same time, the idea of downplaying a major celebrity WrestleMania involvement, unless as part of a storyline, does not make much business sense.
