“How I Met Your Mother” Ratings Start Huge, “Two and a Half Men” Massive

As far as the adults 18-49 demo is concerned, CBS dominated the ratings Monday night.

Undoubtedly fueled by massive interest in the “Two and a Half Men” season premiere, which featured the debut of Ashton Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt character, the network’s comedy block, in particular, soared.

Things opened with “How I Met Your Mother.” After showing signs of wear late last season, it came back in force, delivering a 4.7 rating with 11.3 million viewers at 8PM and a 5.1 with 12.2 million at 8:30PM.

“Men,” as reported, garnered a 10.3 with 27.8 million, while “2 Broke Girls” retained as well as anyone could have expected at a 7.0 and 19.2 million.

“Hawaii 5-0” averaged a decent 3.4 and 12.0 million viewers, although it declined as the hour went on (3.7 at 10PM, 3.1 at 10:30).
