Julianna Margulies Claims Top Actress Prize at Emmy Awards

Despite holding some of the best odds of the night, Julianna Marguiles failed to win the Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series Emmy Award last year. It was a big surprise.

This year, with some compelling names like Kathy Bates (“Harry’s Law”), Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”), Elisabeth Moss (“Mad Men”), Mireille Enos (“The Killing”) and Mariska Hargitay (“Law & Order: SVU”) occupying the field, her win seemed like a bit less of a lock.

Yet, when push came to shove, her performance on “The Good Wife” finally got recognized. She won for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
