WWE’s John Cena vs. The Rock Feud to Continue Past WrestleMania?

While most in WWE are excited for the upcoming John Cena vs. The Rock match, one which many feel can propel WrestleMania 28 to a record buyrate, there has been an element of concern–who should win?

In theory, it would be hard to argue against giving Cena the nod. He’s the one sticking around; he’s the “current” Superstar who could use the rub from a victory over an all-time great.

But the crowd, especially given the show’s Miami setting, is going to be extreme in its love for The Rock and distaste for Cena. A win for John Cena would not likely provide the happy “WrestleMania moment,” and given how behind The Rock many fans will be, they may not even accept the match as a torch-passing moment.

The on-air handshake between The Rock and John Cena earlier this year did not score the most desirable reaction.

With these considerations in mind, there is talk of running multiple Rock-Cena matches over the course of the year–F4WOnline.com reports that WWE is considering opening a best-of-three series at WrestleMania, before featuring a second match at Extreme Rules and a third at Summerslam.
