Alberto Del Rio Drives WWE RAW Viewers Away, Punk, Cena Bring Them Back

WWE’s RAW audience did not give new champion Alberto Del Rio a glowing endorsement Monday.

F4WOnline.com’s quarterly viewership breakdown says the segment with Del Rio’s match against John Morrison averaged 777,000 less viewers than the previous promo segment that also involved Triple H, CM Punk and John Cena.

Losing viewers from the first segment is not necessarily uncommon–but losing nearly a million viewers for a match involving the WWE Champion is concerning.

Most of the show’s segments underwhelmed this week, with exceptions coming for the CM Punk-Triple H-Kevin Nash segment (increased viewership by 597,000 from the prior quarter hour) and the final segment of the CM Punk vs. John Cena match (which added an impressive 1.19 million viewers to the mix).
