“Dancing with the Stars” Wants A-List Names, Ron Artest in Talks

Reports have recently said that ABC wants to beef up the celebrity profile of its upcoming “Dancing with the Stars” season, and one of the big names on the reality show’s radar is Ron Artest.

TMZ first reported the story, citing that it would serve as a backup plan for Artest if the NBA season does not take place on its usual schedule.

Nothing is official, but TMZ says both parties have spoken and that Artest is “excited” about the possibility.

Obviously, because the back-end of the “Dancing” season and the NBA season overlap, a conflict could arise if the NBA lockout ends after Artest had already agreed to do the show. While the A-list ambition for “Dancing with the Stars” means that there will not be any minimum rehearsal time for the celebrity talent, it is still unclear whether Artest would be able to (or even allowed) participate in the non-NBA project.
