Rumors on Controversial WWE Wrestler Returning, Spoiler on SmackDown! Plans

According to F4WOnline.com, WWE views its current use of Ted DiBiase as a third chance to get the wrestler over after two blown angles with the performer.

The first came during DiBiase’s legacy days, which saw the creative team nix plans to have DiBiase depart the group with a major babyface turn.

Later, WWE sources felt the company again dropped the ball with an attempt to recreate his father’s Million Dollar Man gimmick, as he neither used the “money” to truly get over nor consistently won matches. And without his father’s charisma and verbal talent, he could not save himself from the questionable booking.

WWE views his current re-pairing with Cody Rhodes as another shot to get the legacy wrestler over. The Observer likens plans to the feud with The Miz and Alex Riley, in that WWE envisions DiBiase serving as Rhodes’ muscle prior to an eventual face turn.

— Gene Snitsky, who was introduced in the controversial Lita miscarriage storyline back in 2004, was backstage at a recent WWE show, and there were rumors of him making a return for the company. The Observer, which reported the story, noted skepticism due to question over where he would fit into the roster. He would not seem like a natural fit to headline, but with his in-ring ability not superior to that of many current mid-carders, it would similarly seem odd to bring him in as a “worker” for house shows.
