Rob Schneider Comedy Pilot Still Alive at CBS, Reports Say

Despite not receiving an order in time for CBS’ upfront presentation, the untitled Rob Schneider comedy series could still have a life at The Eye.

Deadline reported Wednesday that CBS has ordered a new pilot and additional scripts for the series, which stars Schneider as a confirmed bachelor who marries into a close-knit Mexican-American family.

According to the report, testing was favorable to Schneider, who co-wrote the pilot script with Lew Morton, but less so for some of the supporting actors cast for the aforementioned family.

Some recasting and retooling will be done, and if it produces a more desirable product for CBS, the show will be put on track as a midseason replacement.
