NBC Bringing Back “Parenthood,” “Harry’s Law;” “Playboy Club,” “Awake” Picked Up

NBC continued putting the pieces together for its roster Thursday, ordering a trio of pilots to series and renewing two shows for next year.

Returning next season, according to VAriety will be “Parenthood” and “Harry’s Law.” “Parenthood” has yet to truly break out as a ratings winner, but its steady ratings and critical acclaim were enough to score it a third season with NBC. “Harry’s Law,” meanwhile, delivered massive, PR-friendly viewership totals in its short first season but had been underwhelming in the coveted adults 18-49 demo.

Ultimately, however, NBC got behind the David E. Kelley legal dramedy while likely passing on his rebooted “Wonder Woman” pilot.

In terms of new series, NBC has ordered “The Playboy Club,” “Awake” (formerly REM) and “Grimm.” The former two have been considered locks for a while, whereas the latter fantasy cop drama gained traction at the eleventh hour.
