The censoring of Bret Hart’s use of the term “wrestler” on “Tough Enough” brought to attention the fact that WWE and show producer Shed Media have gone back-and-forth over what terms can be used on the show.
As this is a show heavily-associated with WWE, the wrestling company wants its commitment to certain terminology protected on the weekly telecasts. Shed, however, does not necessarily share that philosophy and wants to deliver the best overall product.
F4WOnline.com reports that a compromise, of sorts, was recently made that allows the Shed Media-contracted talent to use “banned” WWE terms. As a general rule, terminology from WWE-associated talent will be protected.
— Randy Orton’s move to SmackDown! was viewed as the pivotal move in this year’s WWE roster draft, which was moved to April primarily to account for the loss of top babyface Edge. It is worth noting, however, that by moving Alberto Del Rio over to RAW, WWE made the heel picture on SmackDown! considerably weaker. It will be interesting to see if the Supplemental Draft addresses this in any way.
The belief is that Sin Cara was moved to SmackDown! due to the feeling that his matches, at least in the short-term, will greatly benefit from pre-air editing. With Sin Cara headed to SD, Mysterio naturally made sense for a move to RAW.
