WWE Negotiating with MMA Champion About Pro Wrestling Debut

Tatame is reporting that Strikeforce Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos is negotiating with WWE about a pro wrestling debut.

Viewed universally as the most dominant female in mixed martial arts, Santos solidified her top standing with a dominant win over popular female fighter Gina Carano. Since that August 2009 fight, however, Santos has not been booked for too many competitive bouts–she fought twice in 2010, with her last fight on record coming in June of that year.

The Tatame report says Santos “is getting tired of the lack of fights in the [Strikeforce], and this proposal would change her future in fighting – and get bigger paychecks.”

The story says that Santos was approached by the “managers” of a WWE event in California that she attended with her husband, MMA fighter Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos.
