Will The Miz Retain The WWE Championship?, News on Backstage Plans

While the outcome of a Miz vs. Randy Orton Royal Rumble match is far less obvious than would have been the case for The Miz vs. John Morrison, F4WOnline.com reports that Miz is still slated to retain his WWE Championship at the January pay-per-view.

At press time, WWE has both Miz and Edge booked to work the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view as champions; in Miz’s case, there have been further indications that he will hold the title until WrestleMania 27.

WWE has frequently adhered to a start-and-stop policy when pushing new talent, but there have been no serious indications of WWE wavering on The Miz, who was, in fact, booked to look strong on Monday Night RAW as a way to compensate for how weak he was portrayed in the first month of his title reign.
