Kenny Powers Comes Out to Hulk Hogan’s “Real American” on “Eastbound & Down”

Actor Danny McBride might have been remoevd from the list of upcoming WWE RAW “guest stars,” but his “Eastbound & Down” character Kenny Powers has not yet ditched the wrestling connection.

On Sunday’s “Eastbound,” the second episode of the second season, Powers finally made his triumphant return to the mound–albeit in the final stages of a game for a Mexican professional baseball team. His entrance was nonetheless extravagant, featuring vision-obstructing pyro set to “Real American.”

“Real American” became famous as the the theme song for pro wrestler Hulk Hogan, who remains closely associated with the Rick Derringer tune.

— Also on the episode: Stevie tracked down his idol and, after getting shot, getting unwillingly placed on an illegal immigration van into America and getting caught up in intense begging, earned the right to stay in Mexico as Powers’ underling.

Earlier in the episode, Stevie revealed to Kenny that April married Principal Cutler following the events of the first season finale.
