Breaking: Major “American Idol” Change; Guys Perform Tuesday

FOX confirmed Tuesday afternoon that for one-week only, the male and female semifinalists will switch performance nights.

That means that the ten remaining males–Lee Dewyze, Andrew Garcia, Todrick Hall, Casey James, Aaron Kelly, Alex Lambert, Michael Lynche, John Park, Jermaine Sellers and Tim Urban–will take the stage Tuesday in the hopes of moving one step closer to the finals.

FOX said the switch was “due to medical issues which would prevent Crystal Bowersox from performing tonight.” Originally, the females–Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Lacey Brown, Michelle Delamor, Katelyn Epperly, Siobhan Magnus, Paige Miles, Lilly Scott, Katie Stevens and Haeley Vaughn–were to perform Tuesday.

They will instead perform for America’s votes on Wednesday.
