Utilizing the final episode of ECW as a hype platform for next week’s premiere of WWE NXT, the company began confirming the superstar-rookie partnerships for the show.
Confirming what was reported earlier Tuesday, the show will feature eight pairings between a superstar mentor and a “rookie” from Florida Championship Wrestling.
The pairings are below. It should be noted that the rookie list differs slightly from what was reported earlier in the day:
*Christian will mentor Heath Slater
*Chris Jericho will mentor Wade Barrett
*The Miz will mentor Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson)
*MVP will mentor Skip Sheffield (Ryan “Silverback” Reeves)
*Carlito will mentor Michael Tarver
*Matt Hardy will mentor Justin Gabriel (Justin Angel)
*CM Punk will mentor Darren Young
*R-Truth will mentor David Otunga (Dawson Alexander, Jennifer Hudson’s significant other)
