“Grey’s Anatomy” Character Stays, “True Blood” Adds Actor

— “Southland” actor Kevin Alejandro has booked a season-long stint on HBO’s “True Blood.” The actor, whose credits also include “Ugly Betty” and “Weeds,” will play Jesus, a Latino orderly caring for Ruby Jean Reynolds (Alfre Woodard). He will develop a relationship with Lafayette.

Because TNT, which picked up the rights to “Southland,” has yet to make a decision on ordering an additional season, Alejandro was able to secure the “True Blood” part despite his regular billing on the cop drama.

— Kim Raver’s status on “Grey’s Anatomy,” meanwhile, has been upped to series regular. The “24” actress, who joined the show in the previously-recurring role of Teddy Altman, is slated to appear in all but one of the remaining “Grey’s” episodes this season.
