HBO Has Big Hits With “Entourage,” “True Blood,” “Hung”

The first Sunday to feature all three of the network’s hyped summer programs was a big success for HBO.

All three shows did strong numbers this past Sunday; “Entourage,” which debuted its sixth season, posted its best viewership number in two years.

According to ratings data, “True Blood” opened the night with 3.9 million viewers, another series high for the buzzed-about series. “Hung” followed with 3.6 million, a 29% improvement from June’s episode. And though it was the weakest-performer of the night, the sixth season opener of beloved series “Entourage” doubled its season five premiere with 3.4 million viewers.

HBO has added that when all viewing data for DVR and replays is included, “True Blood” averages more than 10 million viewers an episode.
