Jericho: Steamboat Is Better Than Most WWE Superstars

WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat was impressive enough in the WrestleMania legends match with Chris Jericho to earn some additional matches in front of the WWE audience. And ahead of a Honolulu house show match with Steamboat, Jericho believes the legendary wrestler is still more than capable of holding his own.

“I’m looking forward to it. I don’t really look at Steamboat as a legend. He’s just a great performer and one of the best of all time…It’d be like playing hockey against Wayne Gretzky — even though he retired years ago, he’s still better than half the people on the ice nowadays,” said Jericho, who later upped the ante by claiming the 55-year-old wrestler “is still better than 80 percent of our roster.”

Jericho added that Steamboat, not Mickey Rourke, became the true star of the WrestleMania 25 program.
