Inside News On Departing WWE Star, Possible Replacements

As confirmed by the talent herself Sunday, Lilian Garcia’s tenure with World Wrestling Entertainment is nearing its conclusion.

Garcia, who debuted with WWE (then WWF) in 1999, announced that her decision to get married also included a decision to move into the next phase of her life, and that means waving goodbye to her WWE career. No end date has been announced (other than Garcia confirming that it will be at the end of her contract term), but the word from backstage is that Garcia will not be on television much longer.

At press time, no decision had been made on a replacement for Garcia. WWE began searching for a young, attractive female announcer with singing ability earlier this summer, but there are no indications that it has yet hired a replacement. If WWE instead opts to promote internally, the two frontrunners are developmental Diva Angela Fong (who has been announcing at house shows) and ECW’s Tiffany (real name Taryn Terrell).
