CBS Cancels Drama Series

2006 TCA Tour - Day 9

Ahead of its upfront presentation, CBS has officially put an end to one of its veteran dramas.

News broke Tuesday that the network has officially decided to cancel “The Unit.”  A four-year veteran on the network, the move is not surprising–of the three “bubble dramas” at CBS leading up to the final scheduling decisions (“Cold Case” and “Without a Trace” are the other two), “The Unit” consistently had the most pessimistic prospects.

While ABC and CBS have reportedly expressed some interest in picking up canceled NBC series “My Name is Earl” and “Medium,” there has been no clear report of competing network desire to preserve “The Unit.”
