WWE Veterans Love Sheamus, CM Punk’s Backstage Status, MVP, Goldust

The F4WOnline.com Wrestling Observer Newsletter broke down backstage details on how some WWE Superstars are situated in the lockerroom.

Notably, Sheamus is definitely respected for more than his success as Triple H’s workout partner. While Triple H remains high on Sheamus’ talent, sources say that lockerroom forces John Cena and Randy Orton are also big believers in his ability.

On the subject of CM Punk, while his questionable portrayal on television has not gone without notice (losing matches, getting pulled from NXT commentary), there is no sign of any backstage heat or frustration with the wrestler. At present, it is simply the standard issue of WWE not having anything imminent for him, a reality that might change if the company sends him to RAW, as has been rumored.

MVP has noted some concern with his status, explaining that his role has been restricted to something quite limited while younger talent is getting pushed heavily.

Goldust’s program with Ted DiBiase was designed as a way to get the wrestler in the television mix ahead of his autobiography release. Although his current run was primarily eyed as a way to put a veteran on the road to carry some of the younger talent, he has gotten in great shape and is generally viewed as one of the most underrated workers on the roster. He has demonstrated worthiness of his own television time.
