Charlie Puth’s “One Call Away” Scoring Well With Pop Radio Listeners

Among pop radio audiences, the reaction to Charlie Puth’s new single “One Call Away” is thus far of the decidedly positive variety.

Per the latest Mediabase/CMM listener callout report, “One Call Away” is generating a positive reaction from 67.8% of listeners, a negative reaction from 12.6%. Its net positive score thus clocks in at an impressive 55.2%.

Of the 32 songs featured in this week’s report, “One Call Away” boasts the fifth-greatest positive score, the lowest negative score, and the third-greatest net positive score.

Only Adele’s “Hello” (66.3%) and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” (58.3%) hold higher net positive figures.

For “One Call Away,” its one weakness is its comparatively low “favorite” score. “One Call Away” received the “favorite” tag from a modest 13.8% — only Tinashe’s “Player (featuring Chris Brown)” (13.3%), Gwen Stefani’s “Used To Love You” (12.8%), and Ariana Grande’s “Focus” (9.5%) hold lower favorite ratings.

That score can certainly grow as audiences become more familiar with the tune. And even if it does not, it is clear that while listeners may not love “One Call Away,” they definitely like it.
