twenty one pilots’ crossover single “Stressed Out” is thus far receiving a warm reception from pop radio listeners.
Per the latest Mediabase/CMM national callout report, “Stressed Out” holds a positive rating from 62.1% of listeners, a negative reaction from 15.9% and thus a net positive score of 46.2%.
The negative score is particularly impressive. Of the 31 active pop songs measured in this week’s report, only Adele’s “Hello” (11.8%) and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” (13.9%) hold lower negative scores.
The positive score is the format’s 14th-highest, while the net positive score is 5th-greatest.
Still comparatively unfamiliar to pop listeners — only 60.4% of the entire pop survey panel is familiar with the tune — the aforementioned scores could be subject to change (and perhaps reduction) in the coming weeks.
By the same token, the low familiarity is potentially contributing to its modest “favorite” rating (19.7%; 18th out of 31).
The reigning, multi-week #1 at alternative radio, “Stressed Out” is officially inside the Top 30 at pop.
