Update: With more data available, Hits Daily Double has upgraded its opening week sales and consumption projections for Camila Cabello’s “Camila.”
The album is now expected to sell 48-53,000 pure US copies this week. With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, the album will likely debut with 85-95,000 in overall consumption units.
The original projections called for 43-48,000 in sales and 75-85,000 in consumption.
Pure sales inform the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, while consumption drives the Billboard 200.
While specific projections are not yet available, “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack represents the greatest threat to a #1 Billboard 200 bow for “Camila.”
The album moved just over 100,000 units in each of the past two weeks. It should endure a decline this week, but it remains to be seen if the decline will be large enough to give “Camila” the throne.
The new 85-95,000 “Camila” projection certainly makes that outcome more likely, however.

They, predictably, reveal that the album will be in the mix for a top two debut on the Billboard Top Album Sales and 200 charts
Based on opening day sales data, Hits Daily Double expects “Camila” to sell 43-48,000 pure US copies this week.
With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, “Camila” should post an opening week consumption tally in the neighborhood of 75-85,000.
Its prospect of a #1 debut is threatened by the soundtrack to “The Greatest Showman.” The soundtrack did ~68K pure sales and ~101K total units last week.
The figures will likely fall this week, but given the album’s momentum, it is unclear they will fall by enough to give “Camila” the throne.
“Camila” should not, however, land lower than #2 on this week’s charts.
Music fans, bloggers and industry members will surely compare the performance to that of Fifth Harmony’s 2017 self-titled album. That release, which was the group’s first album since Cabello’s departure, debuted with 32K pure sales and 46K total units.
