The inaugural season of BBC America’s “Killing Eve” attracted some attention at last year’s Emmy Awards, including an Outstanding Lead Actress nod for Sandra Oh.
The second season has garnered more substantial attention.
News came Tuesday morning that the show, now simulcast on both BBC America and AMC, is in contention for Outstanding Drama Series at the 2019 Primetime Emmys. It will contend with “Better Call Saul,” “Bodyguard,” “Game Of Thrones,” “Ozark,” “Pose,” “Succession,” “and “This Is Us.”
Oh is back in the mix for Outstanding Lead Actress, but she is not the show’s only representative in that realm. Co-star Jodie Comer is also in contention for the trophy.
Other Lead Actress nominees include Emilia Clarke, Viola Davis, Laura Linney, Mandy Moore and Robin Wright.
Fiona Shaw will meanwhile contend with Sophie Turner, Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams and Julia Garner for Supporting Actress.
— Two of the aforementioned names also have Guest Actress in a Comedy nominations. Sandra Oh is up for “SNL,” while Shaw received a nod for “Fleabag.”
