BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” Breaks YouTube Record With 56.7 Million Views In 24 Hours

Those following the unofficial view counter knew BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” music video had a big opening day on YouTube.

Confirmation has since come that the video had the biggest opening day in the platform’s history.

A representative for YouTube tells Headline Planet that “Kill This Love” generated 56.7 million views during its first 24 hours. That represents a new record for a music video.

Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next,” the previous record holder amassed 55.4 million views in its first twenty-four hours.

In addition to breaking the 24-hour record, “Kill This Love” also set the record for biggest live premiere with 979,000 concurrent viewers at peak. It also became the fastest video to reach 100 million views.
