Earlier this week, Headline Planet noted that Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country” would receive big opening day support at country radio.

Radio programmers made good on that promise. According to Mediabase, “God’s Country” had received 1,198 country radio spins by the end of Friday, March 29.

Beginning with its launch at 6AM ET, “God’s Country” notably received hourly airplay from dozens of stations.

“God’s Country” will not receive as many spins on Saturday, but the opening day count itself essentially guarantees the single a spot on this week’s Mediabase country radio chart. The chart will rank the format’s Top 50 songs based on airplay for the March 24-30 tracking week.

Not simply attracting attention at radio, “God’s Country” is also resonating with music buyers. It holds the #1 position on the US iTunes sales chart.
