Deadmau5’s “Monophobia (featuring Rob Swire)” wins a very close race to claim #1 on this week’s Mediabase US dance radio chart.
How close was the race? “Monophobia” actually received the same number of tracking period spins as The Chainsmokers’ “Side Effects (featuring Emily Warren).”
To break the tie, Mediabase rules say to look at the songs’ week-over-week gains. “Monophobia” wins that tiebreaker — and secures #1 on this week’s chart — by a mere one spin.
Both songs received 291 spins during the September 9-15 tracking period. The count reflects a week-over-week gain of 72 for “Monophobia” but only 71 for “Side Effects.”
“Monophobia,” which was #3 last week, seizes the throne from Au/Ra & Camelphat’s “Panic Room.”
“Side Effects” holds at #2 on the chart, while Martin Garrix’s “Ocean (featuring Khalid)” jumps ten places to #3. “Ocean” posted a tracking period play count of 222 (+75).
Up six places, Calvin Harris & Sam Smith’s “Promises” earns #4. It received 193 spins (+22).
Credited with 175 spins (-67), the aforementioned “Panic Room” falls to #5.
